Robonaut 2 is the International Space Station's friendly 300-pound killbot android assistant. It's there to assist the team with science experiments and probably capture alien life at the expense of the crew. After being fitted with more heat-sinks to enable its delicate machinery to work for longer, it was given the job of monitoring the on-board air velocity to ensure the humans didn't choke to death.

BlackBerry Music Gateway goes on sale, brings a little NFC into your life

RIM showed off the BlackBerry Music Gateway with the promise of a June release, and it's clearly not wasting any time: the first of the month has seen the tiny audio bridge go on sale. It'll set you back $50, but you'll get a conduit for music from any Bluetooth-packing device, whether or not it has that signature 7-dot logo on the back. HTC launches One S in Taiwan with 1.7GHz processor

HTC has launched the One S in its home country Taiwan but it is not the same phone being launched elsewhere. HTC has swapped the processor on this model and it now features a dual-core overclocked 1.7GHz MSM8260 Snapdragon S3 instead of the 1.5Ghz MSM8960 Snapdragon S4 on the international model. The reason for this could be the shortage of the Snapdragon S4 processor, which has been a cause for concern for several OEMs, eventually forcing them to choose from other chip makers. This is why HTC could have gone with the older generation processor. Obviously, to match the performance of the newer S4, HTC also had to overclock the S3 to 1.7GHz.

Ford GT40 modified, runs on electric motor

What happens when you have plenty of engineering knowledge, and are looking for an avenue to apply it somewhere. This 1968 Fiberfab Valkyrie fiberglass replica of an old Ford GT40 was recently purchased by Andrew McClary on eBay, where he then took the better part of the past couple of years in order to update the kit by throwing in an electric powertrain. In fact, McClary decided to stuff the kit using an electric motor, where it was accompanied by a battery which is capable of providing 38 kilowatt hours of power. The end result of McClary's work.
