Samsung rumored to be building the fourth Google Nexus handset

Samsung rumored to be building the fourth Google Nexus handset

Ever wondered how Google goes about picking manufacturers to build their Nexus handsets. Well just like any job, manufacturers will have to submit a proposal to Google and make their bids to land the gig. HTC was the first who was followed by Samsung who made the second and third Nexus devices (Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus respectively), so who could be next. A report from Digitimes has indicated that Google has already chosen Samsung as the manufacturer to build the company's fourth Nexus device.

New Jersey adds 'road rage' kicker to traffic violations

A Carnegie Mellon paper gauges that it would take 76 days to read all of the privacy policies for the companies you deal with, and that's before you get to the terms and conditions and other small prints. Judging how quickly states are adding new laws to their driving codes and swapping punishments, staying informed might also require a semester of reading pretty soon. In honor of a woman who was paralyzed from the waist down as a teenager because of a road rage incident, New Jersey has just made Jessica Rogers' Law official. Rogers was a passenger when the driver of the car she was a passenger in went after another car that cut him off.

HP, Dell and Asus Consider Ultrabooks without Optical Drives

HP, Dell and Asus Consider Ultrabooks without Optical Drives

Recently surfaced rumors about Apple unveiling its next range of MacBook Pros without an optical drive have led to other rumors that suggest the Cupertino tech giant will offer instead external drives as an option. A report by Digitimes indicates that notebook manufacturers like HP, Dell and Asus are considering following suit based on the success or failure of Apple's rumored decision. By getting rid of the optical drive, manufacturers would be able to produce a notebook for $20 less and more importantly it would allow them to create casing designs which are about 1cm thinner than casings containing an optical drive.

Rocketfish's prism shaped speakers will fit the iPad's Smart Cover nicely

If you're interested in getting yourself a pair of portable speakers for your iPad, these prism shaped speakers by Rocketfish might just do the trick in an admittedly pretty clever design as well. As you can see, the speakers feature a prism shape that will not only allow you to prop up your iPad, but it also appears that thanks to its design, these speakers will allow users to slip it between their rolled-up Smart Cover. . This will not only secure the position of your speakers, but it is also a pretty neat way to display your speakers and not having to worry about where to position it on the table.

Do you spend a lot of time pinning your favorite things on Pinterest. Honda may be looking to hand you $500 as part of the company's first campaign on the social outlet. Honda is singling out active Pinterest users and handing some of them $500 to indulge in a "Pintermission" to make a visit to the places they've been pinning or pick up some of the retail items they've highlighted. Honda is making its CR-V the focus of its first foray into Pinterest because it's a vehicle with a lot of appeal to women, much like Pinterest itself. So far, two of the women that have been handed a big, shiny check by Honda are putting the funds toward travel.

RIM teases another high-profile app for the Blackberry Playbook, could arrive as soon as next Monday

Yesterday, RIM's head of gaming Anders Jeppsson announced that Angry Birds Space had finally landed on the Blackberry Playbook. This is certainly pretty good news for Playbook owners but it looks like Jeppsson is not done with the teasing just yet. Yup, it looks like RIM's head of gaming has another surprise in store for Playbook owners and teased that another high-profile app is on its way to the Playbook. Jeppsson has mentioned that this particular app will most likely be arriving Monday next week, but what could it be.
Once again, given Jeppsson's position in the company, it's safe to assume that the app will most likely be a game.
