Sony Ericsson has announced its financial results for the third quarter of 2011. The Swedish-Japanese company sold 9.5 million handsets during the quarter, at an average selling price of â¬166. The majority of those handsets (about 80%) were Android smartphones, and SE says it shipped a total of 22 million Xperia devices worldwide since the first Xperia came out (it was the Xperia X1, launched in 2008 with Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional on board).
The company reported total sales of â¬1.58 billion for Q3.
