Microsoft Wants To Ban Steven Sinofsky From Working At Amazon, Apple, Facebook, Google, And More

Back in 2012 you might recall that Steven Sinofsky, who at that time was the executive at Microsoft in charge of products like Office, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Surface, was leaving the company reportedly due to Steve Ballmer's refusal to appoint him as a potential successor. While Sinofsky now teaches at Harvard, it seems that Microsoft has recently made a legal request to the US SEC where they basically listed some of the companies that Sinofsky will not be allowed to work, at least until the end of 2013.

Nissan recalling 13k Versa Note hatchbacks

Nissan recalling 13k Versa Note hatchbacks

Nissan is recalling 13,000 of its new 2014 Versa Note hatchbacks due to an issue with various bolts used to assemble the vehicle. Considering the Versa Note was only recently put on sale, this news must be driving Nissan nuts (we couldn't resist), but presumably the lion's share of these vehicles are still at dealerships. According to a report from The Detroit News, there are two separate issues. The first has to do with the latches for the rear seats, which include bolts that may not be strong enough to keep the seats upright in the event of a crash. The second relates to the bolts that attach the body to the undercarriage.

Sonic The Hedgehog Played From A First-Person's Perspective

Games like Mario and Sonic were side scrolling games when they were first introduced, although their later incarnations brought a touch of 3D to the mix. You might recall a while back there was a video where the game of Super Mario Bros. was played from a first-person's perspective, and if you thought that was cool, would Sonic the Hedgehog played from a first-person's perspective be of interest to you. Given that Sonic involves a lot of running and spinning, we reckon a bit of motion-sickness could occur, but it's still an interesting perspective nonetheless.

Does Pantech's "Fablet" trademark mean they're trying to enter the big phone arena?

Trademarks can be a funny business. Sometimes they're so vague that you can't do much but express a big “WTF” in your mind, and other times they have a way of letting you know exactly how a company is thinking. Such is the case with Pantech, who has trademarked the “Fablet” character mark. This is quite interesting, as it's a direct homophone of the “phablet” word that has been tossed around as of late.

GPS navigational systems have evolved over the years, with our smartphones these days being more than capable of doubling up as a navigation system as well, but sometimes just because you can be directed to your destination, there are times when you still need to do a bit of searching before you find it. An example would be how a navigation system could guide you to a particular area, but finding the shop itself could be tricky, or there might not be a drivable road. Well Mercedes-Benz is hoping to change that with Google Glass.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 with Snapdragon 600 launches in China... that's probably as far as it'll go

I was excited to read about news that Samsung's Galaxy Note 2 — the phablet hit that inspired other competitors to step into the “big-ger” phone game — would be getting another launch, except this time it'll have a Snapdragon 600 processor. The Exynos 4412 sitting inside the original Galaxy Note 2 isn't bad, but Qualcomm's Snapdragon 600 is so nice that I'd probably buy the phone again just for it. Such a phone is launching in China, but unfortunately it doesn't seem those of us in other parts of the world will be quite as lucky.

By no means is Chromecast itself a “smart TV,” it doesn't come with TV centric apps. Its just a dongle that lets users mirror the content from their devices. Toyota Prius owners aren't bad folks. With a few exceptions, they're just normal people who appreciate the comfortable, high-mileage hybrid. Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for LG Nexus 4, Samsung Nexus 10, Galaxy Nexus and original Nexus 7 arrives today

Alongside the new Nexus 7 tablet, today Google has also introduced Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Obviously, this will be on the new Nexus 7 once it hits the shelves in the US (staring July 30). But it will also be available to other devices - surprisingly starting today. The devices that can get Android 4.3 as of today are all Nexus-branded: the original Nexus 7, Samsung Galaxy Nexus (HSPA), Samsung Nexus 10, and LG Nexus 4. The Android 4.3 update is about to be rolled-out globally, so if you have any of the devices listed above, expect to get it any minute now.

Non-Nexus devices will start receiving Android 4.3 pretty soon, too.
