There have been rumors stretching from as far back as 2010 that the game developer Valve was going to bring its Steam distribution software to the Linux platform. Now however after the development that was denied a long time back, Valve is apparently working on porting it to Linux over the next few months. Steam has been available on PC since it was unveiled in March 2002 at the Game Developers Conference. Since then, the gaming platform found its way to Mac systems globally in May 2010 which provided an avenue for what seemed to be a neglected gaming scene that Macs were facing at the time.
