We had been hearing rumors over the past couple of weeks that Google Fiber was going to be expanded to Austin, Texas. The service was initially made available to Kansas City, even though Austin had campaigned to become Google Fiber's launch city. Various indicators emerged last week that indicated this forthcoming expansion, including an unfinished post regarding the same that went up on Google's blog prior to the official announcement, which has finally been made today. Austin Texas now joins the select few communities that have access to Google Fiber, these include Kansas City, Kansas and Missouri.
