Google Acquires 217 Patents from IBM

Since succeeding in the tech battles these days is all about the patents, the United States Patent and Trademark Office has updated its patent assignment database wherein Google acquires 217 patents from IBM for a still-undisclosed price. The patents cover a vast range of topics including presentation software, data caching, network performance, e-mail administration, blade servers, server load balancing, video conferencing, and instant messaging applications. There are also patents that cover specific Internet, phone, and mobile phone technologies.
