Man proposes to girlfriend over Twitter, takes 12 hours to achieve success

There are many ways to show one's love to another, and with modern day technology, the scope of a wedding proposal goes farther than that of the usual romantic dinner and “on bended knee” stance while popping the question. Mike Duerksen, a local non-profit communicator, decided to live-tweet his marriage proposal under the hashtag #MikeProposes, taking more than a dozen hours as he sent his girlfriend scampering to 8 other locations which is close and dear to them. Those who followed the channel were obviously on the edge of their seats, and right after 8:30 p.m. on Friday evening, Duerksen finally received a resounding yes.
