Megaupload, one of the internet's largest file-sharing sites was shut down a while back but throughout their court proceedings, the company has always mentioned that it wants its former users to get their legitimate data back. On top of that, since the shut-down, its assets were frozen and they wanted money to pay for the preservation of the data that users had entrusted upon them. The data which is currently locked on the servers of hosting company Carpathia is not accessible to either Megaupload its users.
