A while back it was announced by the FCC that they would be working hand in hand with carriers to create a database of stolen phones. These phones will be locked and prevented from being used by the thief and has enlisted the major carriers such as AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon and Sprint. As part of their effort to help cut down on mobile phone theft, AT&T has since launched a "Smart Controls" website of their own. This website will not list stolen phones nor will it let users lock their stolen phones remotely.
