This is despite ongoing component shortages, the Associated Press reported. Shin Jong-kyun, president of Samsung's mobile communications business, revealed the news to reporters on Sunday. “It has been tough to keep up with demand,” the executive said, adding that the company expects to resolve the supply issues with mobile components sometime next week. Despite the milestone, analysts fear Samsung's second quarter smartphone sales could be much lower than previously expected, although Jong-kyun disagrees.
